a good debate

Politics in the details.
While the debate surrounding the overall impact of the measure pits economists and their statistics against one another, Republicans quickly seized on the family planning money as evidence that the Democrats were advancing an agenda that went beyond the economy.

"How you can spend hundreds of millions of dollars on contraceptives how does that stimulate the economy?" House Republican Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio said on Friday after congressional leaders met with Obama at the White House. "You can go through a whole host of issues that have nothing to do with growing jobs in America and helping people keep their jobs."

9 Articles on record cold temperatures

I've read 9 articles today on record cold temperatures.  I am not sure how to balance this with the cries of Global Warming.  I looked at Al Gore's charts and we are on the upswing of the trend, but it sure seems like a bold and big leap of faith to assume that we are going to stay going upward when millions of years of history shows that we have been this high in the past.

A volcano puts out as much pollution in  one eruption as the U.S. does in about 20 years!  What ended the "Ice Age" to begin with.  I do not believe it was cars and Industrialization.

I do not know what to think.

Celebrity News Sickening

I am tired of all the celebrity news!
-Jennifer Aniston: She complains about being stalked and a few days later she is naked on the front of a magazine. How stupid
-Tom Cruise: Is nutso. I am tired oaf hearing about him jumping on the couch on Oprah. This is your third wife moron.
-Bard & Angie: You have enough babies. Stop making movies and run an orphanage if you want to make change.
-Heath Ledger: Killed himself. Why honor him?
-Awards in Film: I guess the criteria is.... "If it is dark, has retards, gays or is immoral it must be good".

Thanks for listening!

Better with Age

I am sure this picture has been doctored up, but she still seems to be someone who is aging well. It would appear by her dating regime, that she is a confused person. She seems so unhappy and lost.

Dog Owners vs. Cyclists

It seems the dog owners in Dallas get priority over cyclists.  People have asked for the bike lane back for years and the City of Dallas will not even put up signs to help protect cyclist on Mockingbird Lane.

Yesterday, I was driving east on Royal and came to the intersection at Royal and Abrams and as I approached Abrams there was a sign that read "Bike Lane Narrows".  No one even know that there is a bike land on Royal because to that point there are no signs or sharrows to let anyone know.  Sharrows if I am spelling it right are the designs painted in biker friendly cities that let people know to anticipate and respect cyclists who may be riding on the road.

I wish I had time enough to ride enough to have this kind of tan line.

another cyclist killed

It is so sad to read that another DFW cyclist was run down. If we had bike lanes, then this guy would probably be alive today. I see that City of Richardson is no better than City of Dallas.
